A Quick Weekend New Orleans Itinerary: Wicked, Food & Fun
A last-minute idea turned into the perfect quick escape — a destination date to New Orleans to see Wicked with friends. From smash burgers in Ponchatoula to a boutique stay on Canal Street, a delicious dinner, and a magical night at the Saenger Theatre, this overnight trip proved you don’t need a long vacation to make meaningful memories. Good food, great company, Broadway magic, and just enough adventure to make us want to plan the next getaway.

Hawaii: A Family Trip to Oahu and The Big Island
Fifteen years after honeymooning in Hawaii, we returned for Christmas to celebrate our anniversary with our kids and my parents. Over ten days, we explored Oahu and the Big Island, from Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head to manta ray snorkeling, Volcanoes National Park, and black sand beaches. Watching our kids experience the islands made this our most meaningful trip yet—full of joy, adventure, and unforgettable family memories.

Travel Must Haves
Finding my voice again meant choosing to quiet my inner critic and share anyway. During a recent family trip — our kids’ first Christmas travel gift — I slowed down enough to truly see who they’re becoming and dream about the adventures still ahead with our “big kids.” This post blends honest reflections on fear and growth with a few favorite travel must-haves that made our time together smoother, more comfortable, and full of meaningful memories.
