Let me introduce myself

I'm Joanna Shroyer, business owner at cabi and Findning Foxtale, hobby farm owner, want to be travel blogger, and homeschool mom.

I started out over six years ago with a women's and children's brand where I honed my fashion skills. I recently transitioned to cabi where I have fallen in love with the designer style and personal touch cabi allows me to offer my clients. I believe that fashion should be easy and make you feel great. I'm throw-and-go style at it's finest, and my goal is to help my clients achieve that "put together" look without all the fuss.

The brand new children's clothing line has launched, and I am offering wardrobe solutions to moms and girls alike. Finding Foxtale is steeped in history and culture; the story is one you will not want to miss.

In my personal life, I'm blessed enough to be married to the man of my dreams. Justin isn't perfect, but he's perfect for me. We have three busy children: Jayden (13). Jordyn (11), and Jaxson (9). Our hobby farm boasts horses, goats, chickens, and even a pig!

• What were they developed for?
Nigerian Dwarfs were originally bred for high-butterfat milk, while Pygmy goats were developed as compact, hardy farm companions (and accidental professional troublemakers).
• Life span:
With good care, both breeds can live 12–15 years — long enough to perfect their “I refuse to come when called” routine.
• Favorite foods:
Goat truth: they don’t actually eat everything.
Their real love language is hay, leaves, weeds, and anything you didn’t offer them.
• Special considerations:
Small goats still need secure fencing, regular hoof trims, minerals, and parasite management… plus humans with a high tolerance for shenanigans.

Some stories take years to write… and some take a whole childhood.

Jayden recently entered a poem about her horse, Hope, in the ASPC Giddy Up and Rhyme Poetry Contest… and she won. 🥹✨
.
If you know their story, you know this wasn’t just a poem. It was a love letter written by a girl who grew up alongside a legend.
.
Hope is a 22-year-old Miniature Horse who has earned more national titles than we could list in a single post — a true show-ring extraordinaire. My family brought her home when she was just 2… and Jayden has never known life without her.
.
She started showing Hope at age four.
And somewhere between tiny leadline classes and championship laps, they created a bond that’s as deep as it is rare. Hope will sometimes respond to Jayden before she’ll even do it for Mom. (And honestly? We don’t blame her. 😉)
.
Watching them grow up together — one becoming a horsewoman and the other gracefully stepping into her golden years — has been one of the sweetest privileges of our farm life.
.
And now, Jayden has honored that journey with words that captured exactly who Hope is to her.
I couldn’t be prouder of either of them.

1. Rotating feed storage — making sure everything stays dry and critter-free.
2. Deep-cleaning coops and stalls — because no one wants frozen “surprises” in January. 🫠
3. Stocking hay and bedding — it always disappears faster than you think.
4. Checking heaters and waterers — prevention > frozen plumbing panic.
5. Soaking up the sunshine — because it’s a chore list and a lifestyle. ☀️

From roller coasters to paella, our Destination Date was one for the books! We checked into the Walt Disney World Dolphin (you truly can’t beat the location—or that it’s a Marriott property 🙌). Dinner at Bourbon Steak set the tone: absolute 10/10.

The next morning, we hit Universal Studios by 9:30 and made quick work of our favorites before hopping the Hogwarts Express to Islands of Adventure. 🎢 If you haven’t braved Velocicoaster, you’re missing out!
.
After a quick reset and wardrobe change, we walked over to EPCOT for three more rides (hello, Guardians of the Galaxy) and the main event: Food & Wine Festival. We ate our way around the world, loved everything, and closed it out under the fireworks. ✨

🐷 Three Things Pigs Don’t Need (no matter what they tell you)

It’s hummingbird season, and around here that means the feeders stay busy! These little guys are on the migratory route and get hungry—and I love watching them every summer. 🪶💕

If you want to keep them coming back year after year, here are a few of my tried-and-true tips:
• Make your own nectar. Skip the red store-bought stuff! The ratio is ¼ cup sugar to 1 cup water.
• Keep feeders clean. Moldy feeders can make birds sick.
• Timing matters. Put feeders out by mid-March and bring them in once you haven’t seen any for a couple weeks (or by early December at the latest).
• Summer bonus tip: they love cold nectar when the temps climb.

Creating a safe and nourishing spot for them doesn’t just help their migration—it brings so much joy right to your window. ✨

We packed a lot of adventure into a short trip to Cleveland, OH!

After exploring downtown and the harbor, we made our way to Edgewater Park where we didn’t just look at Lake Erie—we put our toes in the water. My first glimpse of a Great Lake did not disappoint. 🌊

From there, it was off to Progressive Field for the Guardians vs. Rangers game. And what a game it was—the Guardians clinched their postseason spot in front of an electric crowd! ⚾️🙌 The best part? Watching the girls realize how much fun a live MLB game really is.

Justin and I just wrapped up an incredible trip to Oklahoma City where we had the honor of visiting the Hobby Lobby Corporate Offices. We attended a two-day conference sponsored by Inspire and cohosted by @lifesongfororphans , and the themes of faith, family, and generosity were woven through every moment.

We were blown away by the behind-the-scenes look at Hobby Lobby’s operation and a special surprise of viewing part of the private collection from the Museum of the Bible currently housed there. Such a privilege!

Of course, no Destination Date is complete without a little exploring — we enjoyed some beautiful local parks, shared delicious meals, and took time at the OKC Memorial, a moving reminder of resilience and hope.

Trips like this remind me how grateful I am for time away with my favorite person and for opportunities that inspire both our hearts and our faith. 💕
